Restrictions are imposed on baggage that can be carried into the cabin. Please check the baggage storage method in advance.

[ATTENTION] Updates to the Handling of Power Banks Onboard Aircraft

In light of the recent global increase in aircraft fires involving lithium batteries, and based on the deliberations and subsequent adoption of standards by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) has issued a notice regarding changes to the handling of power banks. These changes pertain to the number of devices permitted for carry-on and the regulations regarding their charging onboard aircraft.

Main Changes:

  • No more than 2 (two) power banks are allowed per passenger.
  • Charging power banks via in-seat power outlets or USB ports is prohibited.
  • The use of power banks for the purpose of charging other electronic devices is prohibited while onboard the aircraft.

Effective Date: Friday, April 24, 2026 (JST)

For security reasons, please note that it is prohibited to carry dangerous articles into the cabin.
  • Knives / Scissors
  • Sharp-edged items / Bats

Handling of power banks

Lithium batteries used in power banks pose a risk of emitting smoke or catching fire due to impact or damage.
To ensure cabin safety, passengers are required to comply with the following measures:

  • ①Power banks are strictly prohibited in checked baggage and must be transported as carry-on items only. *
  • ②The capacity of any single device must not exceed 160Wh. *
  • ③Power banks and spare lithium-ion batteries must be kept in separate bags to prevent short-circuits. *
  • ④Power banks may not be stowed in overhead compartments.
  • ⑤No more than 2 (two) power banks are allowed per passenger.
  • ⑥Charging power banks via in-seat power outlets or USB ports is prohibited. *
  • ⑦The use of power banks for the purpose of charging other electronic devices is prohibited while onboard the aircraft. *

* Violating these items may result in penalties under the Civil Aeronautics Act.

【Weight】The total weight should be within 10kg.

【Size】

  • Personal belongings: Handbags, shoulder bags, and other personal belongings must fit under the seat in front of you.
  • Carry-on baggage: 55cm×40cm×25cm
                                 The total dimension is 115cm or less
  • *Please note that even if your carry-on baggage is within the above dimensions, baggage that cannot be securely stowed in the cabin will not be accepted at the boarding gate or on board, resulting in them being stored as checked baggage and placed in the cargo compartment. We would appreciate your understanding.
  • *The size of your baggage will be checked at security inspection. Oversized baggage will not be able to be inspected. Please entrust it at the baggage counter before security inspection.

Correct baggage storage method

Please place your carry-on baggage by yourself under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment.

When placing baggage in the overhead lockers, please make sure it will not fall out when the door is opened.
Please stow any other baggage under the seat in front of you. If it's not stored correctly, it may become displaced during turbulence or vibrations, and injure either yourself or another passenger.
Displaced baggage can also block the escape route.

For passengers seated in the front row or by the emergency exits: Baggage may not be stowed at your feet.

In case of emergency

Please follow the crew instructions and do not bring out any baggage that may impede emergency escape.
