Members of SKYMARK staff will take care of children traveling alone from the departure airport to the arrival airport to ensure they can travel safely.

Members of SKYMARK staff will take care of children traveling alone from the departure airport to the arrival airport to ensure they can travel safely.

Requirments

For passengers aged 5 to 11 not accompanied by a person aged 12 or over.

  • *Passengers 4 years old or younger are required to be accompanied by a person aged 12 or over.

Fee

JPY 20,000 (USD 180) per child

  • *In addition to the child fare, the extra fee applies.
Age Using SKY KIDS Notes
Children aged 4 years old or younger Cannot use this service. Cannot travel alone. Must be accompanied by a person aged 12 or over.
Children aged 5 to 11 years Can use this service. Must use the SKY KIDS service.
Children aged 12 years or older Do not need to use this service. Can travel alone.

From Reservation to Boarding

Reservation Method

You can reserve at international airport counters commissioned by SKYMARK, or through the International Reservation Center.

What to have ready before traveling

  • Application form (consent form)

    On the day of departure, print the application form (consent form), fill in the required fields and bring it to the airport counter.

    United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requests written consent from both parents or the parent who is not accompanying the minor for minors (those less than 18 years of age) traveling to the U.S. alone or accompanied by only one parent. This written consent must be in English.

Check-in

  • On the day of departure, please go to the SKYMARK counter no later than 60 minutes prior to flight departure.
  • You will receive the ticket holder with original lanyard (with sticker) during check-in. The lanyard identifies the child as using the SKY KIDS service, so they must wear it around their neck until they are met at the destination airport.

Boarding the aircraft

  • After check-in, a member of SKYMARK staff will accompany the child to the aircraft.
    • *The person seeing the child off can come as far as the carry-on baggage inspection area.
  • The child traveling alone will enjoy priority boarding.
  • Please note that the person seeing the child off must wait in the airport until the flight has departed.

Arrival

  • A member of SKYMARK staff will accompany the child from inside the aircraft to the arrival lobby.
    The person meeting the child should wait by the arrival lobby exit.
  • When picking up the child, the person coming to meet them must show official documents for verifying identity*1 and sign their name.
    • *1Driver's license, passport, health insurance card, etc.

Notices

  • *Depending on the model or settings, some children's mobile phones can turn on automatically even when they have been turned off. Make sure to check the settings of your child's phone before departure and ensure the phone is completely turned off.

  • *Boarding may be refused if the flight is expected to land at a different airport, e.g. due to adverse weather conditions.
