Baggage on U.S. Flights

Security Inspection

We have been advised by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that passengers traveling to the U.S. from Narita Airport will be subject to a security inspection. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a safe flight.

Please note that SKYMARK is not eligible for the TSA Pre ✓®(TSA pre-screening program).

Restrictions on Powders Carried onto the Aircraft on Flights from Japan to the U.S.

We have been advised by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that carry-on baggage will be checked for powders and that amounts equal to or greater than 350 ml (12 oz) cannot be taken on board. Please put any such items in your checked baggage. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a safe flight.

Checked Baggage

We have been advised by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that there are enhanced checks for explosives on your checked baggage.

The TSA requires that baggage checked by passengers departing from or transiting through any U.S. airport be unlocked. If anything suspicious is found upon inspection, baggage may be opened and searched by the authorities.
Please be aware that locked baggage may, depending on the circumstances and at the discretion of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), have its lock broken open and be searched without notifying the owner or airline.

Expensive or Valuable Items

Please take the above into consideration before putting expensive or valuable items in your checked baggage. Please understand that SKYMARK disclaims all responsibility for damage to or seizure of baggage (including locks) or loss of contents during U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inspection.

Camera Film and Video Tapes, etc.

There is a risk that undeveloped film may be affected by inspection equipment, for example being photosensitized. Please do not put undeveloped film in your checked baggage.
