【ATTENTION】Changes Regarding the Handling of Power Banks Onboard(From April 24, 2026)

In response to the global increase in lithium battery-related fires on aircraft, and following the new standards adopted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) has updated the regulations regarding power banks.

Main Changes

・Quantity Limit: Each passenger is restricted to a maximum of 2 (two) power banks (limited to 160Wh or less).

・No Charging of Power Banks: Charging power banks using in-seat power outlets or USB ports is strictly prohibited.

・No Charging of Other Devices: The use of power banks to charge other electronic devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) is prohibited while onboard.
