Requests in an emergency

Please be advised to follow the cabin crew's instructions in the event of an emergency. Skymark Airlines’ cabin crews are well trained in emergency procedures. We will give instructions to ensure passengers' safety, such as appropriate prevention postures, how to use the escape chute, and other procedures according to the situation.

Q.
How do we assume the shock prevention posture?
A.
Depending on passengers' physical size and situation, we advise the following shock prevention postures:
1.Posture tilting the upper body forward
We advise passengers seated in narrow pitched seats, or passengers who are tall or strongly built to tilt your upper body forward as much as possible
1)
Brace your feet against the floor shoulder-width apart
2)
Cross your arms and hold the seat in front of you with your hands
3)
Bend your upper body and place your forehead on your crossed arms
4)
Brace yourself
2.Posture bending the upper body forward
This is the posture for passengers in seats with sufficient legroom, and for small children
1)
Brace your feet against the floor shoulder-width apart
2)
Hold on to your ankles with your hands and bend your upper body (If you do not reach your ankles, hold your knees with your arms)
3)
Brace yourself
3.Shock prevention posture for pregnant women
1)
Loosen the seatbelt around your lower abdomen and tilt your upper body forward
4.Shock prevention posture for children whose legs do not reach the floor
1)
Put your head between your legs and hold on to your ankles with your hands
5.Shock prevention posture for passengers with infants not capable of supporting their heads
1)
Wrap the infant in blankets or other fabrics for protection, especially his/her head and neck
Hold the infant under your arm, bring the back of the other hand up to your forehead and hold the seat in front of you with your hand
6.Shock prevention posture for passengers with infants capable of supporting their heads
1)
Let the infant face forward and hold him/her in your lap. Pin the infant's arms against his/her body with one arm, bring the back of the other hand up to your forehead and hold on to the seat in front of you with your hand

Based on the six shock prevention postures above, Skymark Airlines' crews have been trained to give instructions for the best posture to each passenger in case of emergency.
Keep your seatbelts around your lower abdomen and across the hip bones without any slack or twisting when you assume the shock prevention posture.
The information for these shock prevention postures is outlined in "Safety Instructions". Please check the "Safety Instructions" when you board the aircraft.

Q.
What should we do when using the escape chute?
A.
First of all, leave all baggage behind in an emergency as it may impede evacuation.
How to use an escape chute
To expedite the evacuation, extend your arms in front of you and jump onto the evacuation slide.
Extend your arms and tilt your upper body forward. Since you can see the landing site, it is easier to time the landing if you land on your feet.
After landing, stand up and move away from the aircraft immediately. If you remain at the bottom of the chute, you may be hit by the next passenger who slides down.
